The purpose of creating this artist blog and website, is to have an online representation of my work, as well as to inform my friends and family where I’m showing and what I’m currently painting.
Although I do have a background in the arts, I am a self-taught watercolor artist. I have been painting watercolors since 2008. Most of my paintings are based on photographs that I have taken in and around Saratoga County, in upstate New York, and the Adirondack Mountains. My love of kayaking, biking and hiking are a constant source of inspiration for me.
Nature is what motivates me. I try to evoke the beauty and peace I feel when I look at outside world. I’m fascinated with the abstract nature of the small details that come together to create a realistic representation of an object. In each painting, I try to capture what it is that attracted me to the object or scene, so I can bring it to the attention of others. Every watercolor painting I create is original and I do not make reproductions or copies. I like the idea that each painting is one-of-a-kind and unique.
I am a current member of the Upper Hudson Valley Watercolor Society (UHVWS), Saratoga Arts, Colonie Art League (CAL), Southern Saratoga Artists’ Society (SSAS), Transparent Watercolor Society of America (TWSA), and the Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council (LARAC). I have been giving watercolor lessons and teaching painting classes regularly since 2012. I also enjoy doing painting commissions and see them as a real challenge to push myself.
Thank you for visiting my website and I hope you enjoy my artwork!
