About

Although I do have a background in the arts, I am a self-taught transparent watercolor artist. A transparent watercolor artist uses only transparent watercolors and no gauche or white paint. Each painting requires forethought and planning, to preserve the light and white tones of the painting. I have been painting watercolors since 2008.

Color and light are the two things that motivate me in every watercolor painting. I’m fascinated with the abstract nature of the small details that come together to create a realistic representation of an object or location. In each painting, I try to capture the essence of what attracted me to the scene, so I can bring it to the attention of others. Every watercolor painting I create is original, and I do not make reproductions or copies.

I am a signature member of the North East Watercolor Society (NEWS), a member of North Country Arts, Saratoga Arts, and the Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council (LARAC). I have been giving watercolor lessons and teaching painting classes regularly since 2012. I also enjoy doing painting commissions and see them as a real challenge to push myself to realize the vision of others.

Thank you for visiting my website and I hope you enjoy my artwork!
