LARAC Juried Show

Tomorrow night, October 4th at 5 pm, is the opening of LARAC’s Show VII: Annual Juried Show. My transparent watercolor painting Ombre Beautyberry was accepted into the show. Many thanks to artist Ann Larsen for choosing my piece to be part of the exhibition! This juried show highlights 70 local artists’ work in the Capital Region. The show runs October 4th through November 6th, at LARAC’s Lapham Gallery in Glens Falls, NY. Gallery hours are Monday – Saturday 10 am -3pm, and Thursday 10 am – 6 pm.

CSPWC/SCPA International Juried Show

I’m very excited to announce that my painting, Vintage Color II, has been accepted into the 99th Annual Open Water / L’Eau Clarie Exhibition! Vintage Color II is one of just 40 paintings selected to be in this international transparent watercolor exhibition. Sponsored by the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour (CSPWS) / La Societe Canadienne de Peintres en Aquarelle (SCPA), the exhibition will be held at the Helson Gallery in Georgetown, Ontario, from November 13th, 2024 through January 12th, 2025.

Many thanks to the jury of CSPWC members, Liane Bedard, Inge Kjeldgaard Tajik, and Dr. Catherine M. Mastin, PHD, for this honor. And to Shelley Prior for the personal invitation to apply for this jury show.

North East Watercolor Society International Show Opens

The 2024 North East Watercolor Society’s International Juried Show is now open! Very pleased to announce that my painting, Nostalgia, will be on display along with 69 other artists in this beautiful show. The show will be on display through September 29th, at the Gallery at Kent Art Association, in Kent CT.

Adirondack National Exhibition of American Watercolors

Great crowd last night at the opening of the 43rd Annual Adirondack National Exhibition of American Watercolors in Old Forge, NY! I’m very pleased to announce that I was awarded The Segaul Family Award for my painting Color Burst. Many thanks to Dr. and Mrs. Robert Segaul for their donation. Thanks to Dean Mitchell for accepting my work in to this beautiful show, and to Craig Anderson, juror of awards!

The show will be on display at The View Arts Center, in Old Forge, until September 28th. Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 am – 4 pm, and Sunday 12 – 4 pm.

NEWS International Juried Exhibition

I am very happy to announce that my painting, Nostalgia, has been accepted into the North East Watercolor Society’s 48th Annual International Juried Exhibition! This show features 74 watercolor paintings from artists around the world. Opening of the show will be on September 8th, and it will be on display through September 29th. The exhibition will be at the Kent Art Association Gallery – 21 Main Street, Kent, CT. Visiting hours are Wednesday-Saturday, 1-5 pm, and Sunday, 12-4 pm.

New painting

Finally just finished my latest watercolor painting, entitled Ombre Beautyberry (18″ x 24.5″). Based on a photo I took of an American Beautyberry bush while visiting friends near Assateague Island, Maryland. The shifting blend of the bright berry colors caught my eye immediately, as I had never before seen such a plant.

This weekend I also learned that my painting Color Burst was accepted into the 5th Annual Women in Watercolor International Juried Competition! It is one of 264 accepted entries (out of 1,970 paintings) from 62 countries. It is such a great honor to be part of this online showcase! Many thanks to the amazing women artists that juried this show: Lynn D. Pratt, Lana Privitera, Lisa Wang, Lorraine Watry, Carrie Waller, Nuria Riera, Lorraine Simonds, and Janine Gallizia!

Great news!

While in Vermont this weekend, at the 2024 Green Mountain Watercolor Exhibition, I learned that my painting, Cherry Plum Blossom, was awarded the June & Clark Eckhart and Rosemary & Michael Sharlow Memorial Award! Many thanks to juror Richard Sneary, the Valley Artists Guild, and Roarke Sharlow and Gary Eckhart for the award!

Green Mountain Watercolor Exhibition Opens

The 12th Annual Green Mountain Watercolor Exhibition is now open in beautiful Waitsfield, VT. This show runs June 16th – July 20th at the Red Barn Galleries, Lareau Farm and Forest, Route 100, Waitsfield, VT. Gallery hours are Thursday-Friday, 4-9 pm and Saturday-Sunday, 12-9 pm.

Three of my paintings are on display at the show, Cherry Plum Blossoms, Blossoming and Autumn Serenity.
