Dusk and Dawn
The following images are two new watercolor paintings that I have just completed. Both landscape paintings are 8″ x 16″. Dusk is based on a photograph I took one evening on Indian Lake, in the Adirondacks. Dawn is based on … Continue reading

Quiet Cove
My latest watercolor painting is called Quiet Cove. It’s based on another photograph I took at the Chittenden Reservoir in Vermont. I painted the foliage using a negative shape painting technique, which was very challenging for me. Although it was … Continue reading
Lewey Lake
This commissioned painting, entitled Lewey Lake, is the largest watercolor painting I have done to date. It measures 2 x 3 feet and took me the entire winter to complete. The image is comprised of 3 different photos, all taken from … Continue reading
Final paintings
I’ve just finished the last two paintings for my upcoming show in November. The first watercolor painting is entitled Tide Pool. It was based on a photograph I took while in Maine this summer. When the tide washed into shore, it created wonderful little … Continue reading
Ancient Oak
This watercolor painting, entitled Ancient Oak, is based on a photograph I took while kayaking down the Anthony Kill, in Round Lake, NY. This giant, old stump made a wonderful sharp reflection on an early evening paddle.

Thurman Pond
Diverging from my usual closeups, I created this landscape watercolor painting with as few layers of paint as possible, instead of my usual multiple layers of paint. Thurman Pond is a beautiful, peaceful body of water in the Adirondacks, that … Continue reading
